I Promise to listen

When you see post after post about goals for 2026, you may notice your anxiety rising.

This may feel like overwhelm, a racing heart, a sinking feeling, low mood, shallow breathing, a cluttered mind - burying your head in the sand, or trying to make your own shiny to-do list.

If this is you, close down your computer, put away your phone, and go to nature to take notice and listen.

Is she setting unrealistic goals?

Is she berating herself to be better?

Is she putting pressure on herself to do more?

No.

She is just as she is.

What unfolds will unfold.

What comes will come.

When you walk with nature, you walk with presence, acceptance, and trust that everything is as it is meant to be.

“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”

I won’t make promises that I can’t keep.

I won’t promise I’ll meditate every day.

Or take 10,000 daily steps.

Or get outdoors every day.

Or keep my house tidy…

But I will promise to listen - to nature and to my body.

I will promise to be imperfect.

To make mistakes.

To keep learning.

To show up again.

To do my best.

To love my best.

Because that is enough.

And it always has been.
